Prison Break News Round-up, May 22
Prison Break has always been the kind of show that leaves viewers with plenty of news to talk about even during its season break. Having such an impact, fans are still talking about news over its Chinese version, its former cast member’s controversial vehicular manslaughter case and its DVD release.
Previously, there have been reports regarding a Chinese production company that has allegedly purchased the rights to generate the Fox hit drama. The said deal is reportedly amounting $1.2 million. The news became a hot item, not just because it’s about Prison Break, but because of the company’s attempt to make its project popular by adapting the original Prison Break characters. Of course, Wentworth Miller’s suspected visit to China has made it even more controversial and highly anticipated. However, this is all just hearsay according to Fox. According to the network, there have been no contracts or negotiations regarding the million-dollar deal.
Another hot item that has been circulating the media for some time now is Lane Garrison’s vehicular manslaughter case. The former Prison Break star has been arraigned in Beverly Hills Superior Court and has already pled guilty to charges brought up against him for getting a 17-year old killed and injuring two other teens while he was drunk driving last December. The actor now faces a maximum jail sentence of six years.
As for the DVD, Fox has finally announced a release date for Prison Break’s season two. Initially, the network has scheduled for an August 21 release date but changed it to August 28. Now, they have moved it to September 4, 2007, which seems to be it final post. The much-awaited DVD is said to contain commentaries on eleven episodes, plus bonus features, which include “Turning Dallas into America”, “Kill Clip” and “Reinvention of a Series.”
